Salesforce alternative
WTS CRM vs Salesforce: a lighter alternative for small teams
Salesforce is the most configurable CRM platform there is. Most small Indian businesses need a fraction of it: leads, follow-ups, quotations, clients and GST invoices, priced in rupees. This page compares the two honestly, including where Salesforce is the better choice.

Quick comparison
The short version: Salesforce is a platform you configure into the CRM you need; WTS CRM is a finished lead-to-invoice workflow you adopt as it is. Read each Salesforce entry as a platform capability, not a promise that every edition includes it.

What is WTS CRM?
WTS CRM is built for small businesses, agencies, consultants and service teams in India that sell a service, then deliver and bill it. Its path is lead → follow-up → quotation → client → project → invoice → payment, on one record, so a founder can see a customer’s sales history, the work in progress and the balance due in one place.
Leads have six fixed stages (New, Contacted, Qualified, Proposal, Won, Lost), a hot, warm or cold temperature, an owner, and up to 25 custom fields. A few rules are built in rather than configured: moving a lead to Contacted, Qualified or Proposal books its next follow-up, sending a quotation books a chaser, and each owner gets a morning email of what is due. See the follow-up CRM page for how that works.
There is nothing to build or administer, which is the point, and also the limit. If your process depends on custom objects, multi-step automation or a marketplace of add-ons, WTS will not stretch to fit it.
What is Salesforce?
Salesforce is a cloud CRM platform used by businesses of every size. Its sales product separates leads, accounts, contacts and opportunities, and almost every part of it can be configured: fields, objects, page layouts, stages, permissions and automation. See Salesforce Sales Cloud pricing (India).
For smaller companies Salesforce sells suites. The Free Suite covers up to two users; the Starter Suite adds sales flows, lead routing and email marketing; the Pro Suite adds quoting, forecasting, greater customization and access to the AppExchange marketplace. See Salesforce small business pricing and Salesforce Free Suite.
Above the suites, Salesforce introduced Core, Advanced and Max editions on 3 September 2026. They replace Enterprise, Unlimited and Agentforce 1, and bundle Slack, analytics, a Premier Success plan and an allowance of Flex Credits for AI, with Agentforce for Sales in Max. See Salesforce announcement of the Core, Advanced and Max editions.
What do WTS CRM and Salesforce have in common?
Both keep leads, customers and the next action in one shared system instead of spreadsheets and memory. Both track a pipeline, assign records to people, remind the team what is due and report on what happened. Both are cloud software with a free way to try them.
That overlap is real, but narrow. A reminder in WTS and a Flow in Salesforce both prevent a missed follow-up; only one of them can be built into a twelve-step approval process. Compare the work your team actually does every day, not the length of each feature list.
Key differences to evaluate
Setup and administration
WTS works the moment you sign up: the stages, screens and rules are already decided. Salesforce’s suites are designed to start quickly too, but the platform’s value comes from configuring it, and larger rollouts often involve a trained administrator or an implementation partner. Decide who in your business will own the CRM’s setup before you choose.
Lead and pipeline management
WTS keeps one record per lead or client, with fixed stages, temperature, source, tags, an owner and saved views. Salesforce separates leads from accounts, contacts and opportunities, so one customer can carry several deals, each with its own stage and owner. If you regularly sell several projects to the same company, test that case in both. More on the WTS side: lead management software.
Follow-ups
WTS schedules follow-ups with a channel and priority, shows due and overdue lists, records one-tap call results, and books the next follow-up automatically when a lead changes stage. Salesforce tracks tasks and activities, syncs email and calendars, and can automate follow-up steps with Flow. The question is whether you need the CRM to remember the next call, or to run a designed sequence.
Quotations, invoices and GST
This is the widest gap for Indian service businesses. WTS creates GST quotations and invoices, applying CGST and SGST or IGST by place of supply, and records full or partial payments against them, on Solo, Team and Agency; see CRM with GST invoicing. Salesforce includes sales quoting from Pro Suite upward, but invoicing is not part of its sales editions: billing is sold as separate products, or comes from an accounting app connected through the AppExchange. Check the GST invoice format of any route you take. See Salesforce small business pricing and Salesforce Sales Cloud pricing (India).
Client projects
WTS keeps client-linked projects and tasks in the CRM, beside the sales and billing records. Salesforce manages accounts and contacts natively; delivery work is usually handled by another Salesforce product or a marketplace app. If your team delivers what it sells, count that extra product in the comparison.
Automation
Salesforce is far ahead here. Flow builds no-code automation triggered by record changes, schedules or buttons, including approvals and guided screens. WTS has a small set of fixed rules instead: stage-based follow-ups, quotation chasers when a quote is sent or first opened, and optional overdue-invoice reminder emails. There is no rule builder. See Salesforce Flow automation.
AI
Salesforce builds AI into its products: assistive AI in the suites, Flex Credits for AI in Core and above, and Agentforce for Sales, with agents that prospect and qualify leads, in Max. WTS has no AI agents or assistants. If AI-driven selling is part of your plan, that settles the choice. See Salesforce announcement of the Core, Advanced and Max editions.
Customization and integrations
WTS lets owners and admins add up to 25 custom lead fields, but has no custom objects or layouts. It connects through a website lead-capture endpoint, CSV and Excel import, and CSV or JSON export. Salesforce supports custom objects, fields, layouts and apps, and its AppExchange marketplace, available from Pro Suite, adds third-party apps and integrations. List the exact tools and data flows you depend on before choosing.
Team access and reporting
WTS Team and Agency workspaces use owner, admin and member roles; members see only what is assigned to them. Reporting covers the CRM dashboard and operational analytics, such as why leads were lost and call results by person. Salesforce offers roles, profiles and sharing rules configured by an administrator, custom reports and dashboards, and Tableau analytics in its higher editions. Decide which reports you actually read each week.
Pricing comparison
Salesforce pricing checked: 27 September 2026. Salesforce’s India pricing page does not show rupee list prices; the figures below are its US-dollar list prices per user per month. Ask Salesforce for a rupee quote, and remember that 18% GST is added to software bought in India.
WTS CRM workspace pricing
| Plan | Monthly amount | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | ₹499 | One user; leads and follow-ups for up to 100 clients |
| Solo | ₹999 | One owner; the complete CRM, including quotations and invoices |
| Team | ₹2,499 | 5 seats; extra seats ₹399 each |
| Agency | ₹4,999 | 15 seats and advanced reporting; extra seats ₹299 each |
These amounts come from the same configuration as the WTS pricing page. Each plan is a workspace price, not a per-user price; only seats beyond those included are charged per person. Confirm the tax treatment and final payable amount at checkout.
Salesforce per-user pricing
| Edition | List price | Billing |
|---|---|---|
| Free Suite | $0; up to two users | Free, no expiry while someone logs in every 60 days |
| Starter Suite | $25 | Monthly or annually |
| Pro Suite | $100 | Annually |
| Core | $195 | Annually |
| Advanced | $395 | Annually |
| Max | $550 | Annually |
Sources: Salesforce Sales Cloud pricing (India), Salesforce small business pricing and Salesforce Free Suite. Existing customers on Enterprise or Unlimited can stay on those legacy editions. Add-ons such as billing products, extra AI credits, implementation and premium support are not included in these figures.
What a month costs for your team
| Team size | WTS CRM (cheapest full plan) | Salesforce Starter Suite | Salesforce Pro Suite |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 users | ₹2,499 | $75 | $300 (annual contract) |
| 5 users | ₹2,499 | $125 | $500 (annual contract) |
| 10 users | ₹4,494 | $250 | $1,000 (annual contract) |
WTS figures use Team, with extra seats where needed, or Agency when that is cheaper; both include quotations and invoices. Salesforce figures multiply its list price by the number of users. They are illustrations, not quotes: the two products do not include the same things, so price the capabilities you need, then add taxes, add-ons and setup time over a full year.
Who might prefer WTS CRM?
WTS CRM is likely to fit if its fixed workflow already matches how you work:
- You run a small agency or consultancy that sells, delivers and bills its own work; see CRM for agencies.
- You work alone and want one flat monthly price for leads, follow-ups and invoices; see CRM for freelancers.
- You need GST quotations, invoices and payment records next to your customer records, without a separate billing product.
- You want to pay in rupees each month rather than sign an annual per-user contract.
- You are moving off spreadsheets and nobody on the team wants to be a CRM administrator; see moving leads out of Excel.
Who might prefer Salesforce?
Salesforce is the stronger choice if your sales process needs to be built rather than adopted: custom objects, multi-step Flow automation, detailed permission rules, AI agents, or deep connections through the AppExchange. It also suits a business that expects to grow into a large sales organisation and wants one platform all the way, or one whose customers or parent company already standardise on Salesforce. See Salesforce Flow automation and Salesforce announcement of the Core, Advanced and Max editions.
A very small team that needs only contact and deal tracking may also be well served by Salesforce’s Free Suite, provided it stays within two users. WTS is the stronger choice when the real need is one shared workspace for sales, project work and GST billing.
A Salesforce alternative for small businesses in India
Most searches for a Salesforce alternative come down to three things: the per-user price, the setup effort, and features the team will never use. Salesforce’s suites address the first two for small teams, but they are still per-user, listed in dollars, and, from Pro Suite up, billed annually.
For a small Indian business, the questions that matter are whether GST invoicing is included, whether the team can run the CRM without an administrator, and what it costs for your real headcount over a year. Choose the simplest system that covers your must-have processes and the growth you actually expect.
WTS CRM for agencies
A web development or digital marketing agency might use this sequence:
New lead → Follow-up → Qualified lead → Quotation → Client → Project → Invoice → Payment
This shows related work, not an automatic chain. WTS provides the lead, follow-up, quotation, client, project and billing modules, and an accepted quotation can be converted into an invoice without re-entering it. In Salesforce the same path usually spans the CRM, a project tool and a billing product. See CRM for web development agencies and CRM for digital marketing agencies.
How to run a fair trial
Take one real enquiry through both systems. Create the lead, assign it, schedule and complete a follow-up, send a quotation, win it, set up the client work and produce a GST invoice. Include every role you will actually have, and time how long each step takes the person who will do it daily.
The WTS trial lasts 3 days with every feature unlocked and needs no card, so plan the test before you start it. Salesforce offers a 30-day free trial of its suites; see Salesforce Starter Suite free trial.
Switching from Salesforce to WTS CRM
Plan a controlled move. Salesforce can export records as CSV files, from reports or through its Data Export service; how often you can run a full export depends on your edition. WTS imports leads from CSV or Excel with column mapping, and flags invalid rows and duplicate phone numbers before anything is saved. See Exporting backup data from Salesforce.
- Export your Salesforce leads, contacts and accounts, and keep an untouched backup.
- Merge each lead’s contact and company into one row, and clean duplicates, names and phone numbers.
- Map Salesforce fields to WTS fields, and add custom fields for the few that matter.
- Map lead statuses and opportunity stages to WTS’s six stages rather than assuming custom stages transfer.
- Import a small sample, check it, then import the rest.
- Add team members on the right plan, review assignments and recreate open follow-ups.
Opportunity history, attachments, emails, Flows and AppExchange data need separate plans. Keep read access to Salesforce until the new workflow is verified.
Frequently asked questions
Is WTS CRM an alternative to Salesforce?
For a small business whose CRM work is leads, follow-ups, quotations, clients and GST invoices, yes. It is not a replacement for a Salesforce org that runs on custom objects, Flow automations, AppExchange apps or AI agents; those have no equivalent in WTS.
Is Salesforce too expensive for a small business in India?
Not necessarily. Salesforce has a Free Suite for up to two users and a Starter Suite priced per user per month. The cost grows with every seat and edition, is listed in US dollars, and GST is added in India, so compare the total for your real team size over a year.
How much does Salesforce cost per month in India?
Salesforce's India pricing page lists prices per user per month: Starter Suite $25, Pro Suite $100, Core $195, Advanced $395 and Max $550, with every edition from Pro Suite billed annually. Ask Salesforce for a rupee quote including GST before you budget.
Does Salesforce create GST invoices?
Salesforce sales editions handle quoting from Pro Suite upward, but invoicing is not part of them. Businesses usually add a billing product or connect an accounting app. WTS creates GST invoices, with CGST/SGST or IGST by place of supply, on Solo, Team and Agency plans.
What happened to Salesforce Enterprise and Unlimited editions?
On 3 September 2026 Salesforce introduced Core, Advanced and Max editions, which replace Enterprise, Unlimited and Agentforce 1 for new purchases. Existing customers can stay on their legacy editions at current pricing.
Is WTS CRM easier to use than Salesforce?
It has far fewer things to configure: fixed stages, fixed automation rules and one record per lead or client. That is simpler to start with, but it is also less flexible. Ask the people who will use the CRM daily to run the same real lead through both.
Can I move my data from Salesforce to WTS CRM?
Yes, for leads and contacts. Export them from Salesforce as CSV, then import the file into WTS with column mapping; WTS flags invalid rows and duplicate phone numbers before saving. Opportunities history, attachments, emails and automations do not transfer automatically.
Does WTS CRM have AI features like Agentforce?
No. WTS relies on fixed rules, such as booking a follow-up when a lead changes stage and chasing a sent quotation. If AI agents that prospect or qualify leads are part of your plan, Salesforce is the better fit.
Which is better for a digital or web agency?
For a small agency that sells, delivers and bills its own projects, WTS keeps leads, client projects, quotations and invoices in one workspace for one monthly INR price. An agency building a custom sales process with many integrations may prefer Salesforce.
Is there a free alternative to Salesforce?
Salesforce itself offers a Free Suite for up to two users. WTS has no free plan, but its 3-day trial unlocks every feature without a card, and paid plans start at ₹499 a month.
Which CRM fits your business?
Salesforce is a platform for building the exact sales operation you want, with automation, AI and integrations to match, priced per user. WTS CRM is a ready-made workflow for leads, follow-ups, clients and GST billing, priced per workspace in rupees. The right choice depends on how much of your process you need to build.
